A Three Time California Distinguished School Recipient
Letter From the PTA President

August 28, 2009

The supplies we received in the "Bring a Ball to School" request were a huge hit with our kids! Two young ladies were overheard on the upper playground exclaiming - "This is the best recess ever - we hardly ever get a ball!" In the coming weeks PTA will be rolling out the Peaceful Playgrounds program, which will offer our kids more equipment and playground options for their recess time. We invite parents to join the conversation on this issue and be part of the solution - we need parent volunteers to assist with new activities and to coordinate and maintain our new supplies. This will be one of the items discussed at our first PTA meeting on 9/22 at 7 p.m. - childcare is provided and we invite you to attend.

Spaghetti Night is coming up on Wednesday, September 16th. Flyers came home in Friday folders this week. The form is also on the PV website: pveagles.org. This dinner event is our welcome back gathering and we hope that you will join us...

Blues by the Lake is fast approaching and with the B-52's and Blake Lewis playing, this is a concert you won't want to miss! Tickets are on sale now in the school office. Volunteers receive a discounted ticket for $25.00 and a t-shirt - volunteer shifts are 3 hours long and it's a great community event that's fun for the whole family. P.V. needs 30 volunteers and we have 14 signed up already, so don't wait - discounted tickets will soon be gone.

PTA Programs forms have been coming in waves and it's an amazingly large stack of paperwork, even with the consolidated form. Thank you to our families for supporting PTA and our kids.

Enjoy the weekend,

Linda Blum
PTA President
